Accommodation
Most countries do not operate a halls system comparable
to Reading, and students tend to live in private rented accommodation rather
than in University halls of residence, so please be aware that
you may have to
find your own accommodation in advance of your study period. However the
situation varies between institutions and many do offer residential halls for
international students.
Your host institution ill be able to provide you with the most up-to-date
information and give you assistance in helping to find accommodation. They
usually provide an accommodation application form if University owned
accommodation is available, or provide contact details of where you can start
the process.
We also suggest maybe trying to contact Reading
students who are currently staying at the institution or the area to see if they
have any advice or tips on finding accommodation or students from that
country/institution studying in Reading. The Reading International Office can help you to contact these
students.
Please note that we cannot guarantee anyone a place in
Hall on their return to Reading. Occasionally we do have available rooms, so
please contact us if you are having difficulty finding somewhere.
