Digital Skills for Staff

Have you struggled to remember how to set up a mail merge in Word, pivot tables in Excel, or automated rules to manage your emails in Outlook? Would you like to expand your knowledge of the functionality available in Microsoft Teams, or set up a Form?

Digital Skills for Staff: What is it about?

DTS aim to raise digital awareness and confidence across the University, by providing expert IT training at your convenience. We know from your feedback that many of you would like to plug skill gaps or explore more advanced functionality in our standard Microsoft tools but don’t know where to find comprehensive, trustworthy resources.

What do we offer?

Course in UoRLearn

We have created a suite of courses in UoRLearn using content from LinkedIn Learning to help staff improve their Digital Skills. The training from LinkedIn Learning comes from subject matter experts, delivered in bite-size, easy to navigate video tutorials. Go at your own pace, try exercises to consolidate what you’ve learnt and incorporate new techniques and productivity tips into your day-to-day work.

  • Microsoft tools: Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, at beginner and more advanced levels
  • A small but expanding collection of curriculum applications: Matlab, EndNote and NVivo
  • General digital skills: Digital Security and Digital Productivity

The courses available will be added to over time. If you have any suggestions, please let us know by filling in a Feedback Form.
