Equipment on Campus

Please note, if you bring personal belongings, including laptops, mobile phones, bicycles, e-bikes etc, onto campus, you do so at your own risk. You therefore need to consider purchasing your own contents insurance for such items, as the University's insurance policies do not provide cover for personal property.

Equipment off Campus 

Subject to policy terms and conditions, whilst travelling on an authorised trip on the business of the University there is cover in place for loss of or damage to personal property under our Travel Insurance. This also includes business equipment such as laptops, mobiles. In the event of a claim, further information can be found on the Travel Guidance webpage Making An Insurance Claim.

For any other reason, for example for research purposes, if you are planning on taking any high value items of University owned equipment off site please contact uor-insurance@reading.ac.uk in advance to check appropriate cover is in place.
