  • One-to-one advice sessions with individual students on developing more effective study practices

  • General study-skills teaching

Areas of interest

After gaining his BA (Hons) in Photography & Video Art in 2015, Alex developed an interest in student support in Higher Education. His role as a Graduate Teaching Assistant Intern developed his expertise in learning development and an empathetic approach to building confidence in undergraduate students. His approach ensured students were encouraged to develop their independent learning skills, vital to HE success.

In 2017, Alex joined the University of Reading’s Online Courses Team where he began to explore processes of education resource development and digital course production. This included the initial production and development of the Study Advice Team’s online course, Study Smart.

Looking to further expand his critical art theory knowledge, Alex enrolled in MFA Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, graduating in 2019. Alex re-joined the Online Courses Team at Reading in 2021, before realising his ambition for direct student support and joining the Study Advice and Maths Support Team in 2022.
